Hard top welded windshield with two or three forward sections and two track side sliding window [900 series] The heavy duty 900 series hard-top windshield was designed to be exceptionally strong and to aid in supporting additional weight load aloft. The specially designed 6063 T-6 heavy gauge aluminum extrusions are a key element in providing the added strength and rigidity necessary to withstand weight and stress. With the objective to create a dry cockpit or to simply add a small flybridge deck, the 900 series hard top windshield gives the boat owner a unobstructed view forward aft, port, and starboard from inside looking out. Vertical compression struts and corner gussets are incorporated to strengthen the structure and counteract lateral and vertical motion. When designing a new hard-top windshield or modifying an existing windshield, certain considerations must be given to the structural and load requirements necessary to adequately support the new top, independent of the windshield. Additional considerations must be given to weight load and sea conditions which one or both can contribute to excessive lateral stress.
